Overcoming Fear and Doing it Anyway

I recently read How Not to Travel the World: Adventures of a Disaster-Prone Backpacker by Lauren Juliff at Mediabinn. This is the perfect novel for those who need an extra push to overcome their fears and anxieties. Your fear is preventing you from trying new things and traveling alone. Always remember that you are stronger than you know and do the things you are scared of anyway.

A story of agitation

How Not to Travel the World by Lauren is the story that shows how a nervous woman’s dream to travel the world overpowered her anxieties and fears. She kept going despite the unfavorable circumstances and disasters. She couldn’t eat rice, eggs or spicy food that led to eating disorders. She made several mistakes and struggled with even the easiest tasks, but still she didn’t stop because she didn’t want regrets.

Bad luck followed her everywhere

It seems Lauren was one of the unlucky travelers. Disasters kept following her. She had a long boat ride with a corpse next to her, got attacked by monkeys, found in a sinking boat, on a scooter without proper brakes and Phuket with Tsunami threat. Sounds enough to make anyone quit and return to home. But, she didn’t let any of this stop her. Lauren understood that the challenges during travel were helping her overcome her fears and eventually becoming a confident person.
